[V8] V8 Twin Turbo?

I saw a TT'ed PT in a 90Q sedan up at 034 Motorsport.  The engine was just
getting wrung out in the shop ... as the turbo spooled up the top of the
intake manifold box they had built would bulge outward ... SWEEEET!  This
was quite likely the same car others had talked about as Nate works at 034.
I hadn't heard about the engine blowing up ... that would be unfortunate.

After seeing Andrew's difficulties with getting his urq with a bone stock
ABZ engine installed approved by the smog nazi's here in CA I'm thinking
nothing but stock ... certainly nothing like adding turbos to a non-turbo
engine ...

have any experience of a twin turbo conversion on a V8, a la RS4/RS6? I
figure it CAN be done on a 4.2, since the current RS6 application uses that
configuration, but what about a 3.6? 

 

If so, what of plumbing, injection, ECU, exhaust? 

 

Anyone ever heard of this being done? Just curious.
