Late to the party here, but I also have used ATF in the last three Audi's  
5000TQ and 2 V8 with zero ill effects, I also will state it does swell the  
seals...my weepy rack in my last car stopped weeping completely, and stopped

the  stop light Deep Purple ("smoke on the water" for those not of a 
certain age) fog  bank upon  deceleration completely.
Have not had a single issue with the current car after 100K. Just my 2
cents, anecdotal as it may be. Jack
