[V8] V8 Twin Turbo?

You know, Tom, the supercharger thing is a possibility. I should look into
that.

I'm certainly not married to the TT idea on an existing PT. I figure if I
did it, I'd have to find an ABZ TT from some totaled RS4/6 and transplant.
But then, why not just find said RS4/6 and buy it instead....cost benefit
analysis is the key.

Just more of a mental exercise to see who had pushed the envelope on our V8
Type 44's.

Subject: [V8] V8 Twin Turbo?

There's a short video on Youtube, of some germans who did
it....sounds kinda cool till it backfires....It's been said that it
would be tranny suicide to do it to an automatic....Someone(think on
Motorgeek, may have been the English site) had pics of all the bent
rods when their's blew up. Love the quote from Newt(Motorgeek guy
who did a swap) on page 36 after however long it took him to get it
all together/fabricate said....."hope the motor lasts for more than
one event!..... When I first got the Pearl car, and got it running, I
was into it so little, that I had that dream also.....Spent days
(weeks?) on Motorgeek.....then I started adding up the parts, not to
mention all the time/energy(that I seem to have less of these days),
to build something that could easily blow up. I recall that the
consensus was also that the supercharger, was a bit "safer"
alternative(from the mouth's of people who blow up motors) and way
less plumbing/etc.....then almost got stranded 40 miles offshore on a
friend's fishing boat that had a Volvo Supercharger(diesel) sieze up
(wouldn't run without it, and we limped back on 1 engine(same
Supercharged/Turbo diesel 140hp) in bad seas which was way worse than
side of the road btw......Oh yeah, and the clincher was that the
supercharger(since it's for a boat) retailed for HUGE money...I'm
recalling something like $4-6000 new )....and I decided my car was
fine as it was, and has enough to go wrong with it as it is. Not
trying to be negative, and would love to see you do it, if you've got
the time/money/machine shop/know what all those different graphs
actually mean in reference to the "breaking point" of your motor,
then go with it. I'm pretty sure some of the guys @ 034 could take
my 5-speed and "make it so".....for probably more than the Volvo
supercharger, and I'd have a previously "huge maintanance
car"....with more high dollar possible problems(see "cop"
issue)........(not that I don't covet the twin turbo
concept)......Just about then, the steering rack will
hemmorage.....I'm just broke....Tom
