Everything said so far is just about right.
I have never had the intensive washers work in any of the (3) V8's I have
owned, so this time I decided that I was going to have them all work at
least once, which was the reason for getting new pumps.
Of course both washer reservoirs were full, so first they had to be drained.
They come out separately and changing the pumps is easy.
The intensive washer pump only makes about three squirts, and is intended to
work WITH the regular washer. You wash the windows as normal, and then if
it isn't coming sparkling "Audi clean" instantly, push the little round
button on the wiper/washer lever, and the washer will squirt four squirts of
the platinum nikasil based, Audi-only-by-secret handshake fluid onto the
windshield. I am not sure but I have heard that if you buy the intensive
fluid in the special bottle with the four rings on it, the fluid will
resurface your windshield after being used ten times. But that is just a
rumor.
The intensive fluid bottle hold only about a pint of stuff.
