Tom -

I'm the owner of that 1991 5-speed from Oregon (not Seattle).  The car had 115K on it and was in very good condition.  I paid $5600 for it in 2004.  The Pilot (sorry forgot his name) did get stationed in Italy.   I found out later that he bought a 100 to use in Europe.

I've had the number 75 in my head since I got the Lago car in
02.....with 50 something being '91's, and the rest 90's.  I remember
shortly thereafter, a mint Pearl 5-speed came up w/120K and just had
the timing belt/clutch slave done in the seattle area for $5000.  He
was a lister, and all I remember was he was USAF, and was going
oversees(someone out there remembers this).....I even went to the
shop and looked at the car on the hoist(and it was clean!).  At the
time, money was flowing, but I still wasn't sure about the new to me
Lago car(52K)/V8 thing(seemed daunting/moneypit,heard rumors,told to
run away, don't look back, etc.),hell, I was a Saab guy.  Anyway, It
sold, and I didn't really think much of it.  It's haunted me ever
since, and if I had to put the top 10(ok maybe 20) regrets of my
whole life, it would be not buying that Pearl 5-speed.  It's most
likely still around here somewhere........hopefully not running in
someone's garage....Tom
