[V8] Evo V8's

Hi Ron,

as far as I remember at least 300 had to be made in order to be
permitted to use the extensions for the DTM 1991 (homologation). In
theory only new cars which are equipped with the Evo extensions were
permitted (so 300 EVO V8 should have been sold), but in fact that's not
easy on a luxury sedan. Rumours say that they didn't sell more than a
150 pieces. Hence, Audi decided to also sell an Evo upgrade kit.

Evo in principle was:

1) Evo rear spoiler (height adjustable), must remain on lowest position
on public streets
2) Evo front "sword" (length adjustable), must remain on most backward
position on public streets
3) 245/40/17" tires on 8"x17 Bolero rims (usually: 235/45/17")

I have the original brochure here (scanned) - send me an email to get a
copy (has around 3 megs). In addition, I have the copy of an original
"Fahrzeugbrief" (car licence paper) for an EVO V8 telling which
extensions are made.

Paul Fernandez (CAC) sells or sold remakes of both body parts with in a
more or less good quality (some people say the original parts have a
better surface quality, but I can't justify it as I never compared them
- I've seen both mounted on different cars and I didn't see a big
difference).

Best regards

Bastian
