[V8] tire musings

There is a correlation, but I don't believe it is directly relative.
They were using the dumb standard. Not you, their's, well, maybe you
too.... condescending to you.
But they're wrong basically. The load rating is not the speed rating.
The load rating is a function of the gross vehicle weight rating of the
vehicle.
The speed rating is the speed the tire is expected to stay intact at that
speed for one hour.
You know how fast you want to drive and if you want to put a lower speed
rating on your car, that is your choice. The load rating is probably a more
important and relative rating as you may well load your car to the hilt and
go on the highway at some point. You most likely will not go out and try to
do 130 for an hour.

What about the load rating? I went to Costco just last week and they
couldn't even give me a quote. They said the V8 comes stock with a V rated
tire and they don't carry any V rated in our stock size and their corporate
policy is to not go lower than stock on the load rating.
