Right now Firestone has the big Interstate MTP batteries on sale for $99 and
fee installation (via rebate).

You can't get the price just going in the store, It's $150 installed if you
do that. Go to Firestone's website:

Firestone battery web
page<http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/repair/carbattery_starter.jsp?s_kwcid=TC%7C17642%7Cfirestone%20battery%7C%7CS%7C%7C5242233419&gclid=COqNmobn_aICFRxEgwodqW2QaA>

If you punch in an Audi V8, it will give you a 91 group battery (MTP-91 for
Interstate megatron plus). I wanted a beefier MTP-93 (fits fine) but has
more power, so I input a 1991 BMW 750iL. Same price for either. Either
battery will work with the factory clamp and breather tube (squeeze the end
of the breather tube fitting on the hose to get it into the battery; it will
work).

The guys in the store did not know of this sale/deal, so you may need to
make them check their website to find it. If you let them install it, you
can then take your invoice info to another link and get that $10 fee
refunded. I just carried in the battery and skipped that element. The page
for the rebate is hot linked on that page I linked above.

Lastly, so I could maintain it in down periods more conveniently, I went to
Ebay last week and for $5.70 got an additional trickle charger dongle. I
hard mounted it to the battery posts, and left the dongle hanging out from
under the seat. Now I can plug in the trickle charger without removing the
seat. Here's an ebay seller to get these; they work with most trickle
chargers. I had mine two days after I bought/paid for it::

So if you need a battery for your V8 or anything else, good time to get one
of these.

Now on to the CV joint boot project (sigh)....
