Sorry...got distracted yesterday and never finished this post.

Tires. Yes, I will need some soon.

Front struts. Well, the struts are sitting in their boxes in the trunk of
the V8 waiting for tender ministrations.

The V8 is sitting in the garage, undriven for more than a month, and I
noticed yesterday that the registration had expired. I parked the car
because I felt that I wanted to change the struts before driving it again,
ordered the new struts, and then got busy rehabbing two bathrooms, and
repainting this house. We are just entering the meat of the selling season
here, and we want to sell this year...despite the recession.

Anyway, I have brought up my trusty V8 manual and looked at the process of
changing the struts from above. Pretty easy. Except for the top cap on the
strut housing itself. Hmmmm. Jack the car slightly, and frig around inside
with big pliers, a 14 or 16 inch stison wrench or something akin. OK.

Have stilsons but don't really have big pliers. Went to VIP. Yikes! ALL
THAT money, and those are kinda small, too.

Went on line and found REALLY BIG CHANNEL LOCK PLIERS. Bought same, and
they arrived. I am ready to rock and roll. Centered the V8 in the garage
and popped the hood. Grabbed my Allen key roll and selected the appropriate
Allen key.

What? You MEAN after all these years you do not have a 22mm box end wrench?
Gasp! In fact NONE of the metric wrenches are anywhere near that size in
box end? Gasp and double gasp! Arrrghhh! (even!). Went up to the new
sears store and they only have big wrench sets...no singles. ARRRGGGGHHHH!

Went back on line. There is the REAL DEAL for the V8 at Samstagg or
someplace like that. I pushed the button. Then I pushed the button again
for a gizzie cutout socket. They even take Paypal and I just happen to have
money in Paypal.

Awaiting delivery now, so I can play V8 strut mechanic in between playing
plumber and electrician and tile layer and general around the house guy with
a whole back who gets to do all the lifting type stuff that my wife with her
damaged discs doesn't do.

Man! Am I in shape! Stay tuned: pictures at eleven.

Roger

Well, thanks everyone! I have a lot of good comments about tires that will
need to be sourced for the 100CS, and after looking carefully, it will be
sooner rather than later. (snip/cut/slash/burn)
