[V8] C4 V8

That was me, if not many others. Febrile fantasies from that feeble old
geezer in Maine. I had a short at a pretty cheap A6 Avant that was worn
out...very high miles and unloved: perhaps the perfect candidate for a V8
swap. And I have thought that my wife's 100CS might be a good candidate
also. It now is past 152,000 miles, but shows absolutely no sign of giving
up anytime soon, so I wouldn't mess with what is a successful wife's car so
long as it didn't need messing with.

We had a tour in the V8 yesterday. Gorgeous day along the Maine cost and we
did about a hundred miles after lunch. V8 ran perfectly of course.

In fact, I was so fired up that I bought new front struts from that place in
Arizona. Not exotic: just Boges for the front. I am going to start this
process out by just putting in new struts and hoping that the strut mounts
themselves still have some life in them. They shocks aren't "knocking" or
making the usual strut failure sounds, so I'll try this.

And if all doesn't go all that well, I'll either break down and buy a spring
compressor, or get a cooler with some ice, fill it with lobster and go down
to see Ron, the V8 Guru for a little compression time, lobster and V8 story
lying time....
