Lol. I was working on the V8 a bit ago. I noticed my transmission mount,
on the passenger side, was not really solid. When you think trans/motor
mount you think something that is isolated and doesn't move. Well, this
thing was attached to the tranny while the subframe was out. I could hit it
and it would dangle back and forth. I could move the lower part (with 2
bolt holes) back and fourth in about a 45* arc in any direction, and up and
down about 1/2in. The shaft that attaches to the tranny seemed to
physically be detached from the lower portion, but there was like a cup that
kept it from coming apart. This doesn't seem normal at all.
Think of a motor mount that has the rubber detatched from the top screw. it
just sort of does nothing. Now, if there was like a cup over it so it was
still detatched but wouldn't fall out, that's what I mean. I really think
that trans mount is out, because I still have a stupid noise/vibration from
that side of the car forward in the drivetrain I'm fairly sure.
its not the motor mounts cause they are new, not the engine damper, its new,
its not the subframe bushings, all new. Wth?
