[V8] 5sp VS Auto 3.6 ECU differences?- smoking may be oil related?

Interesting thread....as I happen to have 3 Auto ECUs and a 2 stock 5psd  
one's I may just swap them around for fun....though I thought an auto one 
will  not start the car due to issues with starter lockout on an auto? I have 
some  chip switching to do and can try the other auto ECUs I have and will 
see what  happens....I'm happy to report back.
But, I do have some BTDT regarding smoking V8's.....not to start another  
oil related thread, but I have noticed big differences with both usage and 
smoke  on deceleration (usually worm valve guide issues -which not so 
coincidently  happens on lots of the same era VW's which I also own and race) based 
on oil.  Seems the higher mileage specific oils seem to smoke a lot less 
than the other  standard Dino oils. 
Mobil 1 and other full syns don't smoke much either......my guess is that  
some oils may have better ingredients and just do a better job with older  
seals.... ???
I also think fuel systems can cause issues too. I just replaced my FPR, OXS 
 sensor, and TPS, and cleaned the TB and aux air valve and dialed the 
linkage  back in, no more issues with stumble, smoke on acceleration or surging, 
so as  always usage and maintenance always come into play.
