[V8] Simple basic stupid question

Well, I hope to be pleasantly surprised by my bilsteins and hr's...
but it seems everyone hates them just about. The sports that is. I love a stiff ride if it also produces great handling. If its purposeless I'd be mad.

My miata is at 235 and 150lb per in rates right now, and feels weak and sloppy to me. Looking at going more than double those rates in the future.

Absolutely true, there is no perfect shock for everyone. Lots of people
swear by HD's. I like everything about them but one aspect and that is the
one thing I feel the most in daily driving, so they're no-go for me. The
Koni yellows are plenty stiff, but don't beat me up like the HD's did. My
Avant is for limited utility and athletic long hauling and the HD's were
just too much.

What are Boge Red? Would that be the Turbo Gas?

Having run every type of shock at this point in a V8 - Bilstein, Koni,
Boge, Monroe, KYB, and I think the Boge reds are the best for the $$ and
ride
well in the stock setup.
As far a perceived stiffness I would state from hardest to softest: Bilstein
Sport NLA?? Bilstein HD Koni's in middle adjust Boge Red Boge Blue NLA for
V8?? look for 5000 application- still stiff enough for a
V8 IMO
KYB- again another 5000 app, but fine in a V8
Monroe- they are cheap and soft.
I heard a couple negatives on Bilstein, but I think they are perfect (HDs)
in a stock setup IMHO, but do cost a bit more. Much better turn in and
great rebound control, but admittedly not for everyone.
Konis on the new car are a real bitch to adjust- would rather have a non
adjustable ones in there, I would be less tempted to play with them. Shocks
are so subjective as far as what is good - as some folks really want
comfort, others like me will trade off a little comfort for a bit better
suspension control.....

New car almost done R&R-ing!
