Hey Jack, I haven't done it, but like Ron said, when I do, I will buy  
the 034 short shift kit.  Their installation thing shows everything  
being done from inside the car(access to the ball/socket)....Search  
034 motorsports site for "short shift kit"...016...Like I said, I  
haven't done it, and not sure what's in your rebuild kit, but I'm  
thinking you get at it from above...Have a few beers, then take the  
center console out....Tom
