Hey, sorry for the off topic stuff, but it's what's going on for me,
and you guys can relate. I ran the car while it was still on blocks
for most of an hour, verifying it was leak free. Been driving it
around and it seemed totally happy. Just looked underneath again
just to be thorough, and the leak is back!....1 drip/second while
running. I resisted the urge to pull the motor/tranny as it would
have made the rack/oil pump easier, but I've done it before from
below, and made a command decision that it was the oil pump. It's
now looking like it's coming from the timing cover(only thing I
didn't remove), and that will require the engine removal(which I
should have just done last week, but where I was working on it was
not conducive to motor removal.....So now it's not only going to get
the gasket, but a new chain, and since the inner A-arm bushings on
one side(can't remember) can only be done with the motor out/half
out.....guess I'd be a slacker not to do those while it's out....I've
already told the 17yo who's getting this car that if he wrecks it, he
will have to leave the country......Tom (Saab Grunt)
