Consider doing the Ford connection substitute.  You can use the Aerostar Ox Sensor and much $$.

ARe you still using the standard 3-wire sensor?  Some have converted to a
4-wire sensor, running the separate ground wire to a bolt on the back of the
engine block up by the cruise control diaphram to ensure a solid ground
instead of relying on grounding through the exhaust system by way of the O2
sensor threads.
