Now Paul.... your somewhat anti- Audi and/or V8 point of view is fairly well
professed already.
We each have our own unique experience/relation/opinion of cars we have
spent a number of years with...
I won't even try to defend A8's, not that I feel they need much more than
V8's....
All cars "degrade" for a variety of reasons, BUT no car lasts forever
without some TLC... that's Tender Loving Care...
I totally get that sooner or later many people tire permanently of providing
TLC.

I have the V70R and it's a barn burner. The R is the hopped up base car.
Gobs of power, handles the beast and stops like a Porsche. You can crush
distances in it too.
With AWD drive, a ton of space, comfy seats, cool R gauges and....tows the
boat! http://twitpic.com/369qh0
This one is a 2006. The car is probably the most well thought out I've ever
driven. .and works great.
My only complaint is what I feel - like a stretched FWD hatcback, kinda
cheap like. But they did that for efficiency. It weighs around 3300 lbs.
After watching the V8 degrade and my brother's A8 follies I'm staying away
from anything VAG. Want to keep the driveway/garage clean.
My wife is considering a GTI but a C30 is in the mix for that.
