[V8] Steering Rack Rant

Rant of the day  (1993 Audi V8 4.2 with servotronic 
 
Getting a steering rack of these cars is a night mare …. It like giving birth feet first!!!  
I tell you I’ve done a lot of stuff on cars from pulling engines to doing the timing belt on the 4.2 , but this was just plane nasty …. What did Audi do, build the car around the steering rack !!!! The real problem wasn’t undoing all the nuts, bolts, lines, it was to jimmying the fricken thing out of the car through the little hole in the Passenger wheel well. I had to undo the top of the shock tower and move it over a few inches. I think that when I go to put the rack back in I’m going to take the whole strut out …. I really think that is the trick.
