[V8] [NAC] Toyota Tundra V8 water pump replacement

The complexity is going to depend upon what engine is in it. Most US
models, I think, had the 4.7L V8, so let's assume it's that one. I am
somewhat familiar with that process as it is the same 2UZ-FE engine as in a
100 Series Land Cruiser. I have not done it but scoped it out thoroughly in
case I did need to on ours. General "Toyota" forums are pretty useless for
real technical/how to questions.

1) Like mentioned, it is behind the TB, so you might as well do that at the
same time.
2) The special tool, I think, can be easily fabricated (grind an extra tooth
notch) into a common Ford one available at your local NAPA store.

So what you really want to look up is the complete TB change procedure. It
is a fairly involved process as you do have to go through and remove a lot
of accessories to get at the timing belt. It is not "rocket science" but it
takes a little more time than other engines. If you want technical details,
I suggest doing a search in the "100 Series" technical sub-forum at this
website:

http://www.ih8mud.com/

This is a better source, in my opinion, than any of the general Toyota
forums. I know there are some old threads in there going through the TB
change for the 2UZ-FE in great detail. I think there is a Tundra-specific
forum, so you might want to check that one out, too.

Hope that points you in the right direction.

Bryan
