[V8] Where's this hose go?

Hey, ben messing with another car(90 V8 auto), and found a breather/ 
vacuum hose off the tranny, that my OEM 90 auto doesn't possess(it  
had the tranny replaced under warranty @ 45K, and apparently was not  
hooked up/used to my knowledge/wasn't in the way when I did the  
starter as I recall.  Anyway, when I went to do the starter on this  
car, the hose was there, and went to nowhere, or should say it went  
to the exhaust where it burned till I moved it off the  
exhaust.........any ideas where it should terminate?...it's the hose  
behind the ratcheting box end on the rear starter bolt......Tom
