Yes, it's a vent hose for the transmission itself. As the trans warms, the 
fluid expands some. If there is no vent, the fluid would then push past the 
seals and leak out somewhat each time the trans went through a cool 
down-warm up cycle.

You will also find a vent on the rear differential for the same reason.
