[V8] Replacing Blower Motor in 1993 V8

I've had some success reducing the squeal by spraying a light lubricant
into the hole at the base of the motor where the L-shaped cooling hose from
the squirrel cage plugs into the motor housing.

Remember whatever you spray in there will "color" the odor of air passing
past the blower.

My blower works fine, but makes a low squeal, like a bearing noise. It goes
away 
while braking, like its free to move. Any ideas here? or just eventually
replace the 
functioning blower? Maybe there's a German ointment for this problem.
