Ah yes, Audis in Japan ... definitely different than Audis in the USA ...

On one of my trips to Japan I was on the bus from Narita to the hotel in
Tachikawa-city ... and I saw the familiar 4 rings on a dealership that
seemed to be reasonably close to the hotel. I don't usually sleep on
airplane flights, and I had a free day on the day before I left, so I
decided to try to find it. It was a beautiful spring day, cherry blossom
time. I remember walking down a road with a gorgeous view of Fujiyama in
front of me. The walk was a bit longer than I imagined, but I did find the
dealership. I didn't really think about the language barrier ... it isn't
so apparent in most of the places I visited. Someone at the dealership got
the idea of calling someone who spoke English, who served as my translator.
I explained that I was just a visiting Audi fan ... which he communicated to
them. They showed me the cars, gave me a bunch of literature and coffee. I
still have that literature, I think I'm going to look through it again.
Overall it ended up being one of the most memorable days I spent in Japan.

The next day I was so tired I almost fell asleep in the terminal and missed
my flight! I swear I was asleep before the wheels left the ground ... but
then, shortly out of Tokyo the plane hit some sort of air pocket and I was
jolted from my slumber with an adrenaline shot that left me awake for the
rest of the flight ... Oh well, I did have a nice chat with the Japanese
lady who sat next to me ...
