Yup he did it in a weekend. There is a project thread on MG.
As far ss the brakes Andrew had a bracket made to fit the UFO housings and bolted on MB 500 series 4pots.....car stops fine, about as fine as my 4pot Alcons on Betty.
And I did not track mileage cause the trip comp stuff didn't work....but it does now. I'm getting round 19 city, that's with a heavy foot :-)

Less rich in certain spots, should run a bit more smooth, and may have a
better idle but other than that you wouldn't notice it much just because
you'll only be in the spots it was weak at momentairly. Did you track
mileage before? It might go up slightly.
I think I know this car. I remember the brakes, was this the one the kid
did the 5-speed swap in his garage over the weekend? This one has the
larger mercedes brakes, right? not hte one where he actually cut the OE
upright and welded new tabs on?
