Well if he wants to remove everything he mine as well do a t-bel job as well......like u said he eventually wants to do that. So he should do the belt now instead of eventually.
Is he willing to do it now? I have a write up I did from one of the belts i've done. There is all so a good write up on the knowledge base on audifans he can look at.

Hi,
that was quick, thanks! I probably was a bit too fuzzy regarding the
thermostat. He wants to remove everything in front, at least the
radiator, in order to get the right moment on the bit to not strip the
torx bolts (I already told him to be careful with it). Sure I could now
tell him how to accomplish that and that but it's easier if he can get
detailed instructions. I already told him to subscribe the list, but he
hasn't yet, so I jump into the breach and help him as good as I can ;)
He is located at UK southcoast, near Bournemouth!
