not really. Their escape vehicle is, or rather was, a bone-stock 1992-94 
Audi S4 4.2 six-speed (you never got that model in North America), Those 
have the same ABH engine that also is powering the V8, and it was the 
first Audi to sport the HP2 brakes (the 5cyl. S4 had UFOs).

But even if the jalopnik article was wildly exaggerated (they were 
definitely referring to a speed of 140 km/h with the Civic in tow, not 
mph), it serves as a good testimony to the towing qualities of those 
cars. I went 110 mph with a trailer in tow with my V8 4.2 and the 
factory towing package without any issues at all (well, if you don't 
count the fuel economy going down to single digits).
