The AC compressor pulley rides on a sealed bearing so it is permanently lubricated and would work fine without needingthe innards of the compressor to be functional. It is not until the magnetic clutch is engaged that the compressor crankshaft/swashplate starts to turn. So, as long as the front support bearing and the clutch are intact, as long as the clutch was not electrically energized, you have the "AC" eliminator you are looking for.
