[V8] lost key

I tried (30 seconds of effort; Grunt!) the metal hanger piece out of a Pendaflex 
folder.  Flat, strong, with a bit of a hook (more of an indentation) on each end.

If I use a coat hanger, which way should the pointy end of the hook point?  To 
the rear?  Inside?  Outside?  Just keep wiggling?

Is the shim to protect the glass, or to help slide the coat hanger along?

As for getting a key from the dealer, I'm sure they'd need the registration, 
which is... wait for it...

Locked in the car. :)

AAA may be Plan B. I could spend more time waiting for them than it would take 
to jimmy the door open.

So far it looks like:

a) revive an old skill jimmy the door
b) call AAA and let them do it
c) tear the house upside down and shake it 'til the key drops out

Thanks all for the suggestions. The solution will have to wait until next 
weekend, when I'm back in NH.
