You should be able to get the A/C system functioning. A good A/C shop
should be able to determine why it's not working now and find a solution to
provide good cold air. It may require some new parts.
Audi supplied the more attractive "basketweave" wheels for the V8 in a 16"
size that was 8 inches wide and had a 35mm offset. Someone like Chris
Semple at Force5automotive may have those.
There also should be aftermarket wheels in the 7.5 or 8 inch width with 35
mm offset in either a 16 or 17 size.
For proper tires for that car, you need at least a 7.5-inch wide wheel.

Subject: [V8] New V8Q
Hello V8 Owners:
I recently purchased a 1990 V8Q and I have some questions....
On the only 90+ degree day this year in NJ, I found that I had no AC - hot
air only. Barring big mechanical issues, I am hoping to get the system
charged. Have most of you had your AC systems retro-fitted to use R134? If
not, can I get the system charged any other way, Freon/R12?
Also, I followed the thread about V8 wheels. I have to admit that I hate
the wheels that are currently on the car. Would consider keeping them for
snow tires, but would like new 16s. I am not seeing many aftermarket wheels
in that size however, the few I've seen are sized as below:
16x7, 5x112 45mm
16x7.5 5x112 (?)
I don't pretend to know what each of those numerical designations stands
for so that why I'm asking for help. What would fit?
Also, one of the small Audi badges is missing on the side of the car,
anyone know where I could get one of those?
Lots more to do, but that's it for now. If I can't get cool air, I may not
have a V8 anymore ;-(
Dee
RIP "Baby" 95 A6Q Pearl
