[V8] D2 A8 6mt swap?

Does anyone know or remember what all this entails at all?  Like, for
instance using an 04 s4 parts?  Is it just mounts and tranny, or do you
need a special clutch made to work on the v8's?  Can you use S4 or A6
mounts or do you need some special stuff from a european car?

Kinda curious I've been looking at a8s that need tranny work as there are 5
or more in the twin cities for sale at any one time.  Found a 99 w/95k
miles I'm buying and vice repairing/swapping the auto box I was thinking of
a mt swap.

Slight caveat, but What I don't get is how people get ahold of a8s and a6s
and the likes and have no idea you need to change the tranny fluid or
replace timing belts.  It seems a lot of the engines, I.e. any 4/5v audi
mill w/timing belts, and cars in general get bad raps for failed trannys
and busted timing belts.  Its basic maintenance, lol its like not changing
oil.  I spoke with a lady who was "24 and going to cosmotology school with
a kid" who had an a6 w/135k mi and when asked about the belt she said I
don't know what that is I don't have time to learn about mechanics.

Oy vae.  Anyway any ideas?
