If you are going to pull the multi-function plug, I would suggest applying
a contact cleaner/lubricant. While De-Oxit or similar sold a Radio-Shack,
aren't true contact "enhancers" like Stabilant, I use it (De-Oxit)
regularly with reasonable success.
If I remember correctly, the screens are on the solenoids *and* valve body.
It is not regular practice to remove and clean them, and may not always be
advisable for liability sake. Generally/personally, I offer it, but with
reservation, and only suggest it when it's looking like a full trans
replacement is looming.
