[V8] V8 stuff

Sometime in the next few weeks I am hauling the V8 off to the body shop for
its nose job. I have hoped to find some European headlights for the car,
but my hopes are growing dimmer and dimmer as one lead after another fades
away to fantasy.
I did get an interesting offer from a guy in Texas who claimed to have a
set. I asked him to send me photos and the first photo received was of an
old VW Rabbit grille...the rarer variety with the foglight cutouts.
The next photo received was of an Audi 90 he was ( supposedly) parting out.
I told him it was closer but the wrong model, and I sent him a stock photo
of a V8 that I had. He told me he had one of those, too, and the headlights
WERE in fact, ecodes.
I asked him for a price ($190!), which he gave me, and then I asked for some
pictures. He said he was having trouble uploading the pictures of the V8
headlights.
He said he was parting out the entire car, and when I asked about a rear
tail light, the whole price jumped, but he still was having trouble
uploading photos.
I did a Google search of his name, and if indeed he is who he says he is,
and he is indeed in Texas, he might be a faith healer of some sort.
Sniffing out a scam brewing, I decided to say either put up the pics of shut
up. Two and half weeks later, guess which choice he took?
Anyway, I really would like to find a source of headlights for this car, and
am beginning to fear that they are just nla anywhere. But I'll try again,
and if anyone has a GOOD set of V8 headlights, I'd like to chat about them.
I am also looking for a set of V8 BBS wheels, but again, I want them to be
pretty good. If I have to have them refinished I can do that at the same
time the car is being serviced, but hopefully, the pricing will be
realistic. 15" wheels, by the way, because my tires are nearly new and I do
NOT want to go to 16" wheels for the fun of it....not yet, anyway.
Happy New Year!
Roger
