The reason for the G60 retrofit was because the UFO's would warp,
sometimes enough to vibrate the steering wheel out of the drivers hands.
This is unacceptable for a luxury car which cost 5X what a regular car
cost. Changing the disks under warranty was getting expensive, so Audi
opted for a permanent fix. Original buyers in Euroland and elsewhere may
also have been offered the G60 retrofit, there was a lister from London a
while back with a LHD V8 that had been retrofit by the dealer.
Plenty of them were driven over 100MPH regularly, otherwise, what's the
point? ;-)
