I would just change the voltage regulator. Ebay. Cheap. Thirty bucks.
Very possible you could do it in the car but if not its very simple to
remove alt and put in the regulator. 99% sure that's the issue. Brushes
are worn down, so much so that the tenths of thousands that the copper
expands or contracts is making issues of connectivity in the altternator,
oor springs in the voltage reg. Just, replace it. Lol.
Don't need to do toothpick trick or anything. Just slips in.
