[V8] Front axles

I researched this last fall - I have two torn outer cv boots, but no running
issues. I have the car off the road now, but it is going to get done soon.
 Here is what I learned:

1) There actually IS a source for axles, a local european shop found it for
me in their suppliers and it was like $480 per axle. Even they laughed hard
at that. I do not recall where it was available, but they are out there.
But at a price. I was sourcing 5spd axles, they are slightly different I
am told. Maybe autos are cheaper or easier to find.

2) They said just what your fellow said - send them to a local driveline
shop, I think they said about $125 each to rebuild.

If you don't need the joints rebuilt (though sounds like you might), boots
are available many places, from Blau, etc. I am just going to repack and do
outer boots, myself.

Hope those datapoints can help a bit.
Bryan
