Hey, well, I got the 04 Duramax truck in for it's last chance on the  
twice extended Bosch Injector Warranty(expires on  
thrusday).......Anyway, I had one that basically failed, but didn't  
fail enough for GM.  They've changed their "criteria"....3 times to  
limit 'their" liability on the injectors.  Most (Bosch)will agree  
that most of the injector problems stem from GM's initial shitty fuel  
filter(10 micron)......amended to 4 micron...../ most gearhead's run  
a 2 micron secondary filter......They ramped it up to 23000 on the  
fuel rail, and no leakage.... I've got just under 70K on my 04 "truck  
I planned to be buried in".........Aside from having to do the entire  
front end(1" slop in the wheel bearings_....it's been a good truck.   
My mileage has gone down to a 17Hwy/13 town.......One of the tech's  
notes said "dirty air filter"....which I laughed at as I had replaced  
that at my last oil change/every oil change.....It was black/packed/ 
worst air filter I've ever seen......5000 miles.  Can only assume all  
the local roadwork(huge) had something to do with it as it smelled  
like asphalt....No hoses go into the intake before the  
filter......Anyway, new air filter/fuel filter(9 month old) and I  
posted about 21 mpg on the highway today and back to the truck I  
purchased......ZOOM.........5000 mile filter.....Tom
