Hmmmmm, did you put any lubrication in the ISV? I've never seen one give
these sorts of troubles, but either way I put a couple drops of ATF in there
after cleaning. You can check for air leaks by spraying starting fluid
around the different areas and see if the idle goes up accordingly.

Subject: [V8] Running issue: new code.
Hello All,
Was away for a bit, and work (overrated) have kept me from my running issue.
Quick run down. Decent idle, but no power. Was running lean. ECU was bad and
replaced. Replaced MAF, hall sender, cleaned the ISV(filthy), FP(new one
went bad), fuel filter(filthy), and injectors. Timing is all lined up(dist.
and crank marks match). New temp sensor(pass head). New plugs, wires are
good.
After clearing the codes and the 1st start up, I am got a new code
immediatly.
2231: Copied from the IA site..Thanks IA
Idle speed regulation
Idle Air Control valve (N 71) binds when closed
Mass Air Flow Sensor (G 70) offset
Resistance at terminal connector of (N 71)
Idle Air Control valve (N 71) binds when open
Air leak between Mass Air Flow Sensor (G 70) and Idle Air Control valve (N
71)
Any experiences with this code?
I'm trying to get after this tomorrow, or early next week...
I can't work on it on the weekends....Wife won't let me. As much as I would
like to, but I already have 2 black eyes...
TIA,
Paul
