[V8] V8 CV Axles

What is the best bet to replace a left front CV half axle that has a ripped boot and 
the outer joint has been clicking in turns. There is a German OEM part for $500.+ 
or a Cardone rebuild for $55. thru Rockauto plus shipping both ways (and tying up 
the mechanic for two weeks). Are there other options for rebuilt half axles off the 
shelf out there. 
Anyone had a good experience with Caldone rebuilding or know of a source for a 
good left front CV?  Thanks,  Bob
