Will you have to replace the front upper camber plates with the ones from 2 Bennet now that you've lowered it that much. Or does the front suspension align to within factory spec OK.
Can you explain the HR "Green", is that in reference to the springs?
Thanks Bob

I think we have covered Ball joints and SPAM enough last week onto something “New”, this weeks theme Audi V8,s Big smile.
Well after a few-teen hours in the garage my 93 V8 is out on the road again. The first modification/job was to put the HR (green) / Bilstein setup on the car. The new set up is great because it lowered the car by one inch on all four corners. When I was in Carlisle last year I picked up the whole set for 225.00 if memory serves me right. Not a bad deal when new they would of cost 1200-1400 dollars. New rear control armS which I picked up on ebay for 65 dollars, not a bad price as they use to be way more expensive. The front end got new tire rods/ ball joints and sway bar bushings. The end result is a Firm V8 that is great on the road and handles nicely. Now as you can image there are always a few rusted nuts you can’t get off without a torch. I use a simple Propane torch and it might take 5-10 min to heat the components up, but it works well. In my past I wouldn ’t use Heat technique, but I have come to realize that this is one of the best ways to un seize stuff.
The E-Cut out mod took a little time to fabricate to get everything together. The problem is the Y section of the mod is in inches and the Audi exhaust system is in cm. An E-Cutout is a Y section you put into your exhaust system just past the CATs . On the outlet there is a well designed butterfly valve that is controlled by a powered switch on the dash. The rocker switch enables you to open the valve a little or the whole range. Went out and bought a wire fed welder that plugs into a 110V for 130.00. Could have had the shop do the work but I’ ve always wanted a welder … so this was a good excuse to buy one. On a dyno with the valve opened up some peoples vehicles have seen a performance increase from 20- 25 HP!! I certainly feel a difference when I put my foot down. Now the entertainment value of this modification is a look of shear disbelief … wow what a nice sound note. Last week as I was leaving a local car show I opened up the E-Cutout and OMG there were a lot of heads turned with mouths open. Well that’s it from me , cheers superdave
look up E-Cutouts on Google for more info :-)
