[V8] Headlights

Unfortunately for me, I compare all lights to my Rally car. I had installed:
Z beam outer H4 - 55/100
Rallye 5-1/4 Flat highs - 100w
2 x Oscar+ Driving - 100w
1 x Oscar+ Pencil - 100w
2 x Cibie 195 Fogs - 55w (aimed out for cornering)
150 Amp GMC truck alternator
Absolutely some of the best lighting I've ever driven. Most "Offroad" lights are legal in most states BTW, as long as you don't exceed 6 forward facing lights (you can have more, but they can't be operational = covered), and they must be relayed to the high beams. Fogs 'must' be relayed to the low beams (Pennsylvania ticket - they check that - btdt)

For the 'second' best lighting I've driven, and in the most simple trim, was the setup on my Gen 2 87 4Runner:

I used the almost unbeatable 200mm (read: ala Sport Quattro) H4's with Rallye 2000 Aux Driving. I used 55/100 H4 and 100w in the Rallye 2000, again with a Aux light defeat switch. The fill of this light setup was phenomenal for only 2 sets of lenses.

I will say the v8 Ecodes with 100w inners, gives a very nice light spread for a single housing lense setup. I used to overkill relays (1 per light), but now I use 1 relay per pair of lights, and have had no issues with this approach.

Hi Scott: I agree with you completely. I well remember the Z-Beams and had a
set in one of my cars at the time. I did not like the Z-beams as well as the
Carello 7" lights of the time though, and the Carellos were less expensive as I
recall.
