Well the situation went like this....

Moderately heavy traffic, three lanes each direction. I'm traveling the
right lane with a car in the middle lane maybe 20ft ahead moving about the
same speed and a line of cars in the left lane. I see the V8 coming down the
middle lane well above the speed limit. I think, what does he think he's
going to do? Then it was "sh*t, he's going to try getting between me and that
car." I come off the throttle to ride the jakes and apply brake... and
didn't even get to reach the brake. He darted between us and I seriously
thought he was going to catch my bumper. I literally lost sight of everything
except his hood. My bumper isnt one of these modern plastic or thin aluminum
things, its 12 gauge steel, boxed ends, and 18" tall. Had he caught it he
would have wrapped around the nose of my truck.

After he cleared me he charged up on another truck in the right lane and
then darted between two trucks traveling the center lane. The rear truck
was a "covered wagon" (flatbed with a sidekit). The covered wagon locked his
brakes and he happened to be on a very rough section of the wonderful MI
highway. The combo of air ride, locked brakes, and rough road made the
trailer buck and whip.... and that is how you get a pair of 15,000lb rated chains
to snap and a suicide loaded 23 ton coil of steel shifting.

How few 4.2 V8's there are and how high a percentage are in the hands of
members of Audifans, Audiworld, and Motorgeek is why I was hoping I could
track down the driver. I know a couple of truck drivers and a trucking
company that would love to have a chat with him.

I thought the west coast drivers where bad till I moved back to
Cleveland a few months ago. Big rigs aren't anything to fool with.
Ironic considering how few there are and that it was in front of you.
