[V8] Replacing the thermostat

You are correct - pretty straight forward job.  My only advice is to carefully and gently remove the top radiator hose so you don't break it.  It is an expensive part.  I have taken to putting teflon tape on all coolant hose outlets.  It makes removal of the hose years later a snap.  I even put it on things like water pump bolts as an anti seize.  It seems to work for me. YMMV.
