... had another "no subject" spam message from a subscriber address get
through. I did a little research, and I *thought* I found a solution, but
alas it did not work. I'll continue working on it and hope to find
something that works and implement it on these groups ...
The action I will take from this point on is to automatically set any
account from which a "no subject" spam is received to moderation. This will
not prevent list posts; it only sets messages aside for moderation rather
than automatically posting them. I will not send a response immediately
when I do this, but will do so at the first time someone posts a valid
message intended for the group.
I noticed the message that I saw today came from a Yahoo! e-mail account. I
strongly recommend that any of you out there using Yahoo! e-mail to consider
changing your account password, and make it a "strong" password. My boss
told me that his daughter's Yahoo! account was recently hacked, and that
when the hacker found the password they collected all of her e-mail
addresses and then cleared both her address book and the messages which were
stored. I understand that she was able to recover the address book
eventually, but the messages are gone.
