Very sorry to read of your dilemma. I'd say the chances are pretty good
that the valves are bent on at least one of the heads. Also, from my
(anecdotal) experience (hasn't happened to me yet) the cause isn't really
timing belt failure so much as pulley or water pump seizing up. The belt
consequently skipping teeth/shredding is merely a result of the other
component failure. I like to say "timing belt failure" is rather a misnomer
and relatively rare -- unless it's due to age.
