[V8] Ethanol-free gas

Very interesting... The black 93 has always seemed to be a bit less
powerful than the silver 94, while the cayenne 1990 recently (several months
ago) started to run like a top. Fuel economy was up, throttle response was
crisper, and it felt way more responsive overall and, in a different way,
almost as quick as the 93. It just occurred to me what I did to it way back
about those several months... changed the fuel filter. I wonder...

300 gallons...Ouch. Freak's me out and I've only got a 45 gallon
tank. On the subject, I had the day free, and decided to replace the
fuel filter on the Lago car. The fuel filter was the very first
thing I did after getting the car(first Audi) back in 02 w/52K.
Since it sat for the last 4 years or so(with ethanol fuel/marine
stabilizer in it) waiting for me to do the timing belt, I've been
wanting to do it. The car by the way ran great after doing the belt,
but did take a bit longer to start after sitting all those years. I
drove it today and after listening to the car tell me repeatedly that
I was out of fuel, I got the gas gauge down to the lowest mark. The
stuff that drained out was cloudy with a lot of suspended water and I
cut the filter open and it was black/slimy. The dealer had the
copper seals(tankside was aluminum) and for $1.30 she said that I was
the low sale for the month. Took it out on the highway afterwards
and the difference was quite noticeable and back to as good as a
totally stock/low mileage car can be. How old is your filter? Tom
