As a successful small business person myself I tend to disagree, you need to have good customer service and be honest in order to make money.
If you have had good service from Chris, good for you. I and many others have not. Simple as that.
One of the great things about about free market capitalism is that if if someone's service or product is not so good you can vote with your feet and dollars and walk away. I and many others have done that with Chris.
To Huw's earlier post regarding me being a "lurker" or even nicer "Troll" (very mature), to clairify, I was very active on this the Q-list from almost it's inception. And since I'm not driving anything that old anymore (type 44, 43 or others) and see very few posts regarding anything I have much knowledge about I tend to not have much to say, and not just lurking, as I have sent plenty of emails in the past off list if I can help.
My post regarding Chris is not new or unique, as he has performed poorly with many folks over the years . And as I stated maybe he has tightened up his operation, and I stated YMMV. But, I can state I know a LOT of folks in the VW/Audi/Porsche community and his reputation is certainly NOT sterling anywhere.
Let it go please, I have had bad service from him, and you haven't, good for you....no need to attack me for stating a few facts to balance out the love-fest for him, because as entertaining as a mid-winter flame war might be - all of us might actually have better things to do (like seeing the end of Top Gear tonight).
Cheers,
Jack

Yeah, because running a BUSINESS at a loss usually works really well. Far be it
or him to serve the Audi community and make a (good?) living. This kind of
ttitude never ceases to amaze me. Why else would anyone put up with the BS it
akes to own/run a business?
