My exceptions to the 10vt noted the clarification that all 20vt 200 got UFO's from the factory (to your "not all 20vt..." comment). Further, any 200 20vt that have G60's on them, were USA dealer installed under the Customer Complaint Service Advisory. I spoke to one of the factory Engineers years ago about UFO's. He thought the step "back" to G60's was the strangest thing he ever heard. The main purpose of the UFO was to give a 25% larger rotor fitment (over the G60) under a 15in wheel, while reducing unsprung weight in doing so. He also shared that the standard 'fix' for a warped UFO was to take it to Autobahn speeds and stand on the pedal, let it cool and repeat. BTDT many times on my 91 when I feel that UFO wobble.
In the US, there is probably a 100year supply of them, since finding UFO equipped Audis is more rare than the original fitment. Shop around well for them, a lot of parts places that got 'stuck' with them in inventory, will let them go much cheaper than their listed priced, btdt. Best way to start is by asking them to look up sales history...
Cheers

This is what I said, you confirm/contradict in the same post:
>All US '91 200 got UFO's from the factory.
>(US 88-91 200 10vtq used either G60 or ATE single piston),
As was posted, the ONLY 200's which got UFO's in the US were the 20VT's.
UFO's are great brakes, but not for the typical US 4 door luxury car buyer.
BCNU,
Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.

The below is not really correct either. UFO CARS FROM FACTORY
Any that had G60 were converted in the USA under Customer Complaint Brake Service Advisory 1992. Many dealers converted NOS (untitled 91 stock) as it was a generous time-unit job.
All US 1990 and 1991 v8 (plus early VIN 1992) all got UFO from the factory as well. Any that had G60 were converted in the USA under Customer Complaint Brake Service Advisory 1992 (1992-1994 US delivered v8 equipped with G60's). Again, many dealers converted unsold 91 v8 stock, which many believed were "G60 factory brakes".
Early VIN 1992 S4 (1992-1995 US delivered S4/S6 equipped with G60)
In EU, UFO CARS FROM FACTORY
88-91 200tq worldwide 89-94 v8
92-94 S4
The UFO was a great setup (i personally think it still is), but it got a bad rap because it had the reputation for bad heat dissipation in stop and go traffic. The G60 gets a worse rap since that time, because it's carrier and pins warp with heat.... Read the underwhelming aspect of the G60 is not a function of rotor, pad or caliper.

This is incorrect, the models I originally listed were the US models that got UFO's. Not all but only the 20VT 200's, and all 1990 V8Q's too.

Point of clarification, UFO in the US are found on 1991 200 and v8 only.

UFO Brakes were only used on the 1991 200TQ 20V and the 1990 and '91 V8Q.
