[V8] '93 V8Q - Speed sensitive power assisted steering

My V70R with Servotronic II is all screwed up now. There is a two wire 
hydraulic pulsed valve on the steering gear that apparently has failed more 
than a few times. I just ordered it should have it in next week. Cost ws 
$70. 100K miles on my steering rack. A reman rack is $1070 for the Volvo,

Not sure if Audi has the same valve...in addition there is a relay and a 
control module that are supposed be reliable.

Has anyone had issues with the power assisted steering? Specifically it
appears as though the assist has dropped dramatically at parking speeds. The
assist is still there but the level is as though I'm at highway speeds. I do
not see in the manual anything about this.
