[V8] Amazing VW Restoration - Anyone try this with a V8?

 A friend had a new Wolfsburg edition Corrado G60 once upon a time.  I got an extended drive in it, along with my first speeding ticket in years... I kinda liked it :)  Heavier and faster than my Coupe GT, but still quite nice.

Not $6000 and a weeping fuel tank liked it, but maybe $3500.

Saw this on Jalopnik, totally floored by the quality and its starting to
give me some ideas that are unfortunately making my wallet not very happy.
Even the paint Job couldn't be cheap.  Has anyone tried this with a V8?
