[V8] Climate Control success

Yesterday I spent some time trying to fix the climate control in the  
Black car during a break in the weather.  Since none of the buttons  
responded and the fan was on high constantly,  I thought I'd just  
swap out the control head.  Without consulting the book, I proceeded  
to mostly remove the center console as there was coffee stains/ 
whatever on the sides and I wanted to clean it.  Realized in the end,  
that I could have done the swap by just removing the 2 screws under  
the wood trim, but the console looks much nicer now.  I even removed  
the clear plastic cover on the head unit and got all the dust/etc  
behind the "screen" so it looks new.  Known good control head changed  
nothing.  I started thru the procedure in the book today, and once  
realizing where the AC Blower Control Unit J126 was, swapped it off  
my spare AC box, and everything works flawlessly now including the  
AC.  Good thing I did remove the kick pad also as the monkey's that  
did the heater core/fan for the PO never got the ducting back in  
right and there was almost nothing coming out of the Defrost vent  
even though that new fan was moving good air.....Made my day.....Tom
